Lapiplasty® Center of Distinction

Bunion correction that treats the root cause

Many traditional bunion procedures shave the bump and leave the unstable joint behind. Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction realigns and stabilizes the joint at the base of the big toe. Dr. McKenzie is trained in the procedure, and our practice was recognized by Treace Medical as a Lapiplasty Center of Distinction.

Questions

Before you book

Can I text to make an appointment?

Yes. Call or text 757-977-1026 during office hours, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can also request an appointment online at any time.

Do I need surgery for my bunion or heel pain?

Usually not at first. Most conditions, including plantar fasciitis and early bunions, start with non-surgical care such as custom orthotics, footwear changes and therapy. Surgery is considered when conservative care hasn’t given you relief.

What is Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction?

Lapiplasty is a bunion procedure that corrects the unstable joint at the base of the big toe in three dimensions instead of only shaving the bump. Dr. McKenzie is trained in the procedure, and the practice is a Lapiplasty Center of Distinction.

Do you perform surgery in the office?

Yes. Many minimally invasive procedures are performed right in our office. Your doctor will explain whether your procedure can be done in-office.

Do you treat children and athletes?

Yes. We treat pediatric foot conditions and sports injuries, including sprains, stress fractures and tendonitis.
